Senator Melissia Hurtado Releases Statement Regarding the Death of Robert Forbes

SACRAMENTO, CA – Today, State Senator Melissa Hurtado (D-Sanger) issued the following statement on the death of Robert Forbes:  

“According to the Bakersfield Police Department Robert Forbes was fatally injured after being hit by a car at a protest against police brutality on Wednesday June 3, 2020.  I extend my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Robert Forbes and my heart goes out to them during this time of sorrow. 

This is an open investigation and a final determination for this collision has not been decided.  To help the police, anyone with information regarding this investigation is encouraged to contact the Bakersfield Police Department at(661) 327-7111, or by emailing Officer C.
