Madera Coalition for Community Justice Named Non-Profit of the Year for Senate District 12 by Senator Anna M. Caballero

Senator Anna M. Caballero will honor the Madera Coalition for Community Justice as the 2022 California Nonprofit of the Year

MADERA: On Wednesday, June 8, 2022, Senator Anna M. Caballero (D-Merced) will honor the Madera Coalition for Community Justice (MCCJ) as the 2022 California Nonprofit of the Year for Senate District 12.

The MCCJ’s primary objective and purpose is to educate and assist underserved residents of Madera by working together to obtain appropriate and sufficient food, clothing, health care, educational and employment opportunities, and other fundamental needs. They were an invaluable resource for the community in Madera County during the pandemic and they are worthy of this recognition.

This year will be the seventh annual celebration of the California Nonprofit of the Year initiative. It is clear that nonprofits have stepped up to support our communities in times of need and have adjusted to the ever-changing circumstances posed by the pandemic. They deserve to be recognized for their dedication that all too often goes unnoticed.

“Without the critical work of organizations like the Madera Coalition for Community Justice, families might not have survived the pandemic and its impacts. I feel honored to be able to recognize their work and hope that they inspire others to step up and become active, engaged members of their community. There is no better place to invest your time and talent than in your own neighborhood helping families.” Anna M. Caballero, Senate District 12

“Nonprofit organizations play such a critical role in our communities, and the last two years of the pandemic have only served to highlight that,” noted Jan Masaoka, CEO of the California Association of Nonprofits (CalNonprofits), which serves as a partner for this awards program. “California Nonprofit of the Year gives elected officials the opportunity to shine a light on the important work nonprofits are doing in their districts and for everyone to appreciate the collective impact of nonprofits in our communities.”

Senator Anna M. Caballero represents the 12th Senate District, composed of the Salinas Valley, the Counties of Merced and San Benito, and portions of Fresno, Madera, and Stanislaus Counties
