SACRAMENTO: Senator Anna M. Caballero (D-Merced) announced today that a ceremonial check for $100,000 will be presented to the Veterans Memorial Museum in Fresno for facility modernization projects. The Veterans Memorial Museum offers an educational experience for visitors, focused on all branches of the military with an emphasis on the meaning of personal service to our nation.

The museum is free and open to the public six days a week and they are staffed by volunteers and operate on donations.

Senator Caballero, the daughter of a veteran, also helped to secure over $60 million to support the Veterans Home of California at Fresno through the state budget and has been a long-time advocate for Veteran Housing and other critical services.

“Sacrifice on behalf of our brave service members has kept our country safe to enjoy the freedoms our constitution embodies. The City of Fresno and residents of Central California are fortunate to have a local gem to educate and share our nation’s history. It was an honor to secure funds through this year’s budget to modernize our museum. I encourage everyone to visit the museum to learn about and honor the veterans in our community.”
