Farewell and Thank You

Hello Neighbor,

I have spent many years representing the Salinas Valley as an attorney and as an elected official. I never thought that this would be my path or life’s work, but my love for this region and the special people who live and work here changed everything.

As many of you know, my time as your district representative in the California State Senate is coming to an end due to a change in boundaries chosen by the California Redistricting Committee. On December 2, Senator John Laird will be sworn in to office and will serve as your new State Senator. While this change is bittersweet, I know that the region is in good hands and I am celebrating all of our wonderful memories, partnerships and achievements.

The values of self-determination, grassroots activism and service will stay with me no matter where I serve. I know that the people of this region will rise to every challenge with the same resilience and passion that has always defined us. Thank you for allowing me to serve you and for believing in the power of community. Let’s continue this work together with Senator Laird, fighting for justice, opportunity and a future where our families can thrive.

Sincerely,

Senator Anna Caballero
