$150 Million Earmarked for Flood Recovery in May Revise

Sacramento- Senator Anna M. Caballero (D-Merced) released this statement following Governor Newsom's May Revise announcement:

"The Governor’s May Revision Budget preserves key investments made over the last two budget cycles and reaffirms the Legislature’s commitment to a thriving California for everyone.

Although this was a lean budget year, I commend the Governor for his leadership in prioritizing communities like Planada and Pajaro who were severely impacted by flooding.

It is difficult to imagine the devastation suffered by families who lost everything, and critically important for me to advocate on their behalf. That is why it pleases me to see that the revised budget includes $150 million earmarked for recovery efforts— a huge first step forward. I am committed to continue to work on behalf of community members who need relief."
