SACRAMENTO, CA — Senator Anna Caballero (D-Merced) proudly recognizes Eli Painted Crow of Merced as her 2026 recipient of the Latino Spirit Award in the category of Achievement in Human Rights, presented by the California Latino Legislative Caucus.
The Latino Spirit Awards honor Latinos who have made significant contributions to their communities in fields including technology, journalism, literature, health and science, advocacy, business, education, human rights, arts, public service, and entertainment. Since 2002, the awards have recognized individuals whose work has made a lasting impact on California’s Latino community.
The 24th Annual Latino Spirit Awards were held on May 4, 2026, at the State Capitol to coincide with Cinco de Mayo. This year, 11 Latino leaders were recognized for their achievements across business, education, health, human rights, arts, and media. More information about the awards can be found on the California Latino Legislative Caucus website.
