Senator Anna M. Caballero to Present $2 Million for the City of San Joaquin for Parks and Youth Gang Prevention, Building on $32 Million in Previous Investments

SAN JOAQUIN, CA – State Senator Anna M. Caballero (D-Merced) will join the City of San Joaquin Mayor Adam Flores-Cornejo and city leaders on Wednesday, October 14, to present $2 million in state funding for park improvements and youth gang prevention programs, bringing total investments in the community to $34 million during her eight years representing the city.

When Caballero first took office, her first meeting was with the City of San Joaquin, where local leaders shared the challenges facing their small agricultural community, including access to clean drinking water, public safety, and opportunities for young people.

Since then, Caballero has helped secure $30 million for water treatment plants, storage, and distribution infrastructure and $2 million for regional public safety support.

Building on those investments, the Senator will present $1 million for a multipurpose walking trail and new pocket park and $1 million for youth gang prevention and intervention programs in partnership with California Youth Outreach.

The investments reflect a strong partnership focused on strengthening essential services and improving quality of life for San Joaquin residents.
