Senator Caballero appointed to Special Committee on COVID 19 emergency response

Senator Anna M. Caballero (D-12) was appointed today to serve on the newly created bi-partisan Special Committee on Pandemic Emergency Response

Senate Pro Tem Toni G. Atkins (D-39) announced today the formation of the eleven member special committee, tasked with reviewing the state’s response to the COVID-19 health crisis.  The committee also will make findings and recommendations for future preparedness, if the coronavirus returns later in the year, or if the state faces a subsequent pandemic.

“I would like to thank Pro Tem Atkins for her leadership during this difficult time, and for the opportunity to serve on this important bi-partisan special committee. California has been a leader in taking early action to reduce the tragic path of the COVID 19 pandemic.  However, it is absolutely critical that we evaluate what California did in response, so that we can refine our models, and be better prepared in the future to serve all Californians,” said Senator Anna Caballero.

In addition, Senator Caballero was appointed last week to the new California Senate Budget subcommittee on COVID -19 Responses. The focus of the budget subcommittee are expenditures and funding related to the pandemic. A schedule of California Senate hearings can be found at http://senate.ca.gov.

Senator Anna M. Caballero represents the 12th Senate District, composed of Merced, Madera and San Benito Counties, and portions of Fresno, Monterey, and Stanislaus Counties.
