Senator Caballero to Convene Joint Informational Hearing on Agriculture and Cap-and-Invest Program
SACRAMENTO, CA — Senator Anna M. Caballero, Chair of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, in partnership with Senator Catherine Blakespear, Chair of the Senate Committee on Environmental Quality, will convene a joint informational hearing examining the role of agriculture within California’s Cap-and-Invest program and the impact of climate investments on rural and farming communities.
The hearing will bring together state agency leaders, academic experts, agricultural industry representatives, environmental advocates, and frontline community voices to discuss how climate policy and agricultural sustainability can advance together.
“We want to ensure that California’s climate strategies both reduce emissions and strengthen our agricultural economy,” said Senator Caballero. “This hearing is about transparency, accountability, and making sure farmers, farmworkers, and rural communities are at the table as we shape the future of Cap-and-Invest.”
