Caballero (D – Salinas) joined with Senator Lena Gonzalez (D – Long Beach), and Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris (D – Laguna Beach) to introduce Senate Bill 1410 to create the COD-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program. The bill would authorize the California Department Housing and Community Development to administer a program that provides financial relief for California tenants that cannot pay rent because of financial hardship from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Senate Pro Tem Toni G. Atkins (D-39) announced today the formation of the eleven member special committee, tasked with reviewing the state’s response to the COVID-19 health crisis. PG&E has announced a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) in Stanislaus County in response to high wind speeds in the area. The shutoff will begin at 12:00 PM on October 9, 2019. After strong winds have passed, PG&E will inspect power lines and restore electricity when deemed safe.

SB 697 eliminates outmoded requirements that Physician Assistants (PA) work under by creating a more flexible work arrangement, and ends the disparities between PAs and other medical providers.
