2026 Woman of the Year – California Legislative Women’s Caucus
Linda Griffin, Founder of the Greater Merced Black Chamber of Commerce, is this year’s honoree.
Born in 1952 in Merced and raised in Atwater, Linda faced early challenges in a school system that did not recognize learning differences such as dyslexia. Often labeled “lazy” due to misunderstandings of her abilities, she instead turned these obstacles into fuel for growth. Her resilience, determination, and belief in her potential guided her to become a member of the first graduating class of the University of California, Merced.
Today, through her work with the Greater Merced Black Chamber of Commerce, Linda continues to lead with strength and purpose, empowering others and shaping a brighter future for her community.
