SB 769 – The Golden State Infrastructure Act
Sacramento, CA – Senator Anna M. Caballero (D-Merced), in partnership with California State Treasurer Fiona Ma, will host a press conference to announce SB 769 – The Golden State Infrastructure Act, a bold initiative to create a new public-private financing tool to address California’s aging and underfunded bridges, dams, water systems, waste water systems and other infrastructure systems.

WHY:
California’s infrastructure is in crisis. With a grade of C- from the American Society of Civil Engineers and outdated financing tools unable to meet today’s scale and complexity of needs, the time has come for innovation. SB 769 would establish the Golden State Infrastructure Fund, a revolving fund that allows for both debt and equity investments in transformative projects across the state.
By partnering public and private capital, SB 769 enables critical investments in climate resilience, water systems, energy infrastructure, housing and transportation, creating jobs and future-proofing California for generations to come.
