Today, Senator Anna M. Caballero (D-Merced) and Assemblymember Buffy Wicks (D-Oakland) announced that their comprehensive housing affordability and production package successfully passed both houses of the legislature. The two bills included in the bicameral package, SB 6 (Caballero) and AB 2011 (Wicks), are now headed to the Governor’s desk for signature.

Senator Anna M. Caballero (D-Merced) announces the passage of SB 1449 the Unincorporated Area Annexation Incentive Program out of the Senate Committee on Governance and Finance with unanimous bipartisan support. SB 1449 creates a state matching grant program for cities that are annexing unincorporated areas. This bill will help fund infrastructure costs associated with annexation including sewer connections, sidewalks, storm drains, and streetlights. 




SACRAMENTO: Senator Anna M. Caballero (D-Merced) introduced SB 1410 which modifies the vehicle miles traveled (VMT) regulations to limit use to Transit Priority Areas (TPAs). In areas outside of TPAs, the traditional measurement of traffic impacts, Levels of Service, would be used to assess transportation impacts on the environment for projects subject to California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) review.
