Hello Friends and Families in SD 12:

For renters in California already facing some of the highest rents nationally due to a lack of housing supply, the COVID-19 pandemic has pushed too many to the edge of homelessness. From all parts of Senate District 12, I consistently hear from people that they fear eviction.

Senate District 12 Friends and Families,

The Capitol was busy last week, as we returned to a full week on the Senate floor observing social distancing and wearing masks. The California Legislature delivered the 2020-21 budget to Governor Newsom, preserving programs that protect the elderly and poor, while recognizing that the pandemic will have a profound impact on the state’s ability to fund everything. Simply, there are going to be reduced services, but not those that are lifelines for at risk Californians.

Friends and Family of Senate District 12,

Senate District 12 is opening for business! The State has created a transparent process that each county must work through, in order to open economically, and still slow the spread of COVID-19. We can, must, and will successfully do both!

Friends and Families of Senate District 12,

Today, I write about the lack of vital broadband infrastructure throughout California that risks our future as the innovation state, and threatens to leave behind rural communities.

Senate District 12 Friends and Families,

This week, I challenge everyone in Senate District 12 to fill out the 2020 Census.

What is the Census?
